Co-founder Alexander Montero began investing in real estate at the age of 21. Back in 1996 he purchased his first of many investment properties. It was a duplex and after much rehabbing it eventually became home for himself as well as his brother. He went on to purchase and remodel several other properties in the years since.

Upon graduating from the Florida International University School of Business with a dual major in Business Management and Accounting, Alex received several job offers from various prestigious international companies. He took a job as a financial analyst for VISA in their Latin American headquarters in 1998. In 2000, he obtained his Realtor’s license. After three and a half years at VISA and becoming a Certified Public Accountant he began working for the prominent accounting firm of Berkowitz Pollack Brant in 2002.

Alex built his first new property and purchased his first commercial property in 2003 while working at BPB. Despite success as an accountant he still struggled greatly between following his “career” which he had worked very hard to obtain, and following his dream which was to create his own successful real estate development and construction firm. After much thinking and careful deliberation he decided to leave the firm in 2004 and engage in his first love full time.

After leaving the firm Alex obtained his Real Estate Broker’s license. Shortly after he started the predecessor to Arkhitekton Construction, Empire Development Company of South Florida and obtained his Certified General Contractor’s license. To date, Alex has built & overseen the construction of 26 new homes & remodeled many others with a total construction value of over $29 million.
